Tue, May 21, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Track & Field Finishes Third In Season Opener Posted: Friday, January 16, 2009 EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - In the opening meet of the indoor season, the UW-Eau Claire women's track and field team finished in third place in the Blugold Indoor Open this evening with 132 points. UW-La Crosse won the event with 155.5 points, while Winona State (Minn.) placed second with a total of 140.5 points.
Taking second in 55 meter dash was Hilary Forrest (Fr.-Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH), in 4.75 seconds, while Talisa Emberts (Fr.-Sussex, Wis./Sussex-Hamilton) finished second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.01. With a final jump of 10.65 meters, Liz Amici (So.-Whitewater, Wis.) took second in the triple jump for the Blugolds. Eau Claire will have the week off and return to action on January 24 for the UW-Stevens Point Triangular. The event is set to begin at 10:30 a.m. - CL - |

The Blugold women had three first place and four second place finishers. Mary Palmer (Sr.-Anoka, Minn.) took first in the one mile run with a time of 5:11.04. Just four seconds behind Palmer was Bethany Easker (So.-Wittenberg, Wis./Wittenberg/Birnamwood). Easker took second in the event, finishing in 5:19. Returning All-American Liz Kooistra (Sr.-Lakeville, Minn.) took the 800 meter run in a time of 2:19.01. In the pole vault, junior Hayley Suckow (Elk Mound, Wis.) took first in the event, with a final jump of 3.45 meters.
