Men's Basketball Set To Face Superior

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire men's basketball team will be back in conference action tomorrow with a game against UW-Superior in Zorn Arena at 7 p.m.
The Blugolds are 8-3 on the season and 2-1 in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. This season Eau Claire is 6-0 at Zorn Arena and has won four contests in a row and seven out of its last eight. Superior is 0-3 in WIAC play this year and 7-5 overall.
Eau Claire is led by Dan Beyer (Sr.-Waukesha, Wis./Catholic Memorial), who is averaging 13.5 points and 5.9 rebounds per game this season. Geoff Probst (Jr.-Moose Lake, Minn.) has played well this season and recorded double-doubles in two out of three games last week. He has 10.2 points and 5.2 rebounds per game and leads the Blugolds with 19 offensive rebounds. Ryan Shea (So.-Duluth, Minn./East) has 11.1 points and 3.7 rebounds per game, while Colin Boone (Jr.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) is averaging 9.8 points and 3.5 rebounds.
Jake Smith leads Superior with 17.8 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. Three others are also averaging double-figures. Dwight Hill has 15.5 points per game, Dan Culy averages 13.5 and Shane Manor averages 10.8. Hill leads the team with 56 assists, while Culy leads the Yellowjackets with 35 steals.
