MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - With a perfect 11-0 record, the UW-Eau Claire women's basketball team moved up three spots to No. 3 in this week's D3hoops.com Top 25 poll.
The last time the Blugolds were ranked third in the poll was in the final poll of the 2002-03 season when they finished third in NCAA Division III.
The Blugolds, who also received two first place votes, are now the highest ranked team in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. UW-Whitewater had been ahead in the prior rankings but has now moved to fourth. Stevens Point is ranked 10th in the poll.
In this week's Women's Basketball Coaches Association's USA Today/ESPN Top 25 Poll, the Blugolds are also ranked third and received one No. 1 vote.
Eau Claire will be back in action Wednesday when it travels to UW-Superior. Action is set to begin at 7 p.m.
