Sun, May 19, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Men's Basketball Ready To Open WIAC Play At Home Posted: Thursday, December 4, 2008 EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire men's basketball team is set to open its Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schedule Saturday in the first game of a doubleheader against UW-Stout at Zorn Arena. The Blugold men will play at 3 p.m., followed by the women's game. The Blugolds are 3-2 coming into the weekend while the Blue Devils are 2-3. After starting the season with three losses, Stout won its next two. The Blugolds head into the weekend with two straight wins, with their last victory coming on a 74-66 win over Finlandia University (Mich.) Tuesday at Zorn. Dan Beyer (Sr.-Waukesha, Wis./Catholic Memorial) leads the Blugolds this season with 14.6 points per game and Ryan Shea (So.-Duluth, Minn./East) is right behind him with 14. Colin Boone (Jr.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) has also averaged double-figures with 10.6 per game and leads the Blugolds with 20 assists. Beyer is also leading Eau Claire with 5.4 rebounds a game, while Jordan Kappen (Jr.-Blair, Wis./Blair-Taylor) is averaging five. Three Blue Devils are averaging double-digits with Jerrel Enerson-Matthews leading the pack with 13.6. Jerrod Buchholtz is averaging 12.6 points a game, while John Donald has 10.2 per game and leads the team with 5.8 rebounds per game. Enerson-Matthews is also leading the team with 17 steals and Nathan Staidl leads the Blue Devils with 28 assists. Next Wednesday Eau Claire will be on the road for a game at Platteville and will then be back at home for another doubleheader against UW-La Crosse next Saturday. - KM - |
