Bag Of Food Gets $2 Discount On Women's Basketball Ticket
Posted: Thursday, November 20, 2008
Any fans bringing a bag of non-perishable food items will receive a $2 discount on their ticket for the UW-Eau Claire women's basketball home opener Tuesday (Nov. 25) against St. Norbert College.
Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. in the W. L. Zorn Arena for the Blugolds' non-conference clash against the nationally-ranked Green Knights.
This event is the final one planned by the UW-Eau Claire Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) during its annual food drive for the month of November, SAAC president Betsy Kettinger has announced.
The food drive is part of a concerted effort by all the SAAC groups in the nine-member Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference according to SAAC advisor Andy Jepsen.
Tickets are priced at $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and UWEC faculty and staff, and $4 for youths.
In previous years, the Blugold SAAC group has donated as much as 1300 pounds of food to the Feed My People Food Bank in Eau Claire.
