Wed, Jun 19, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Swimmers Earn Athlete Of The Week Honors Posted: Tuesday, November 18, 2008 MADISON, Wis. - UW-Eau Claire men's swimmer Patrick Finley (Sr. -Waunakee, Wis.) and women's swimmer Angie Bakula (So. -Appleton, Wis./West) have been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) athletes of the week, conference spokesman Matt Stanek announced today. Finley posted season-best times in winning two events and helped the Blugolds to a 122-102 victory over UW-Oshkosh. In his first event of the day, Finley finished with a time of 1:47.58 in the 200-yard freestyle, more than four seconds faster than the second-place finisher, and also won by more than 15 seconds in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:02.74. Bakula won two events as the Blugolds defeated UW-Oshkosh 136-83 on Nov. 15. She took the top spot in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 18:40.29 and followed that with a first-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:23.86. - KM - |
