Sat, May 25, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Wrestling Competes In Lakeland Duals Posted: Saturday, November 15, 2008 SHEBOYGAN, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire wrestling team kicked off its season competing against the host school Lakeland College, St. John's (Minn.) and UW-Parkside in the Lakeland Duals this afternoon. In the first dual match against Lakeland, the Blugolds lost a close competition 26-21. In the second match, Eau Claire lost to St. John's 36-7, and ended the day with a loss against Parkside, 31-19. Against Lakeland, the Blugolds had five winners. At 133, Andy Miller (Sr.-Appleton, Wis./North) pinned Sam Delain in 1:53, while Andy Johnston (Jr.-St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech) was victorious at 149 by a score of 7-3. At 174, Keith Dawson {((Fr.-Neillsville, Wis.) beat Josh DeLuca 5-4, and Jake Jones (Fr.-Waukesha, Wis./South) won at 184 pounds, 6-3. Josh Holforty (Sr.-Bloomington, Minn./John F. Kennedy) won his match at 197 by way of disqualification. In the match against St. John's, Eau Claire had two wrestlers tally wins. Miller picked up his second win of the day by a score of 8-5, while Johnston did the same, beating Ben Anderson by a 12-3 margin. In the final dual match against Parkside, the Blugolds had three winners. Miller won again, this time pinning Brandon Kircher in 2:03, while Johnston and Holforty won 9-1 and 3-2. The Blugolds will be back in action on November 22 when the travel to Minneapolis for the Augsburg Open.
