The Blugolds return 19 letterwinners this season, including four all-conference players, but are predicted to take seventh in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association according to the preseason coaches' poll. Despite the low prediction, the Blugolds look to pick up right where they left off last season with their top six scorers from last year returning. Of the Blugolds top 13 scorers from last season, who each accumulated six points or more, only one does not return. St. Scholastica also returns a wealth of players, but lost two key individuals from last season. The Saints have 10 seniors and nine juniors listed on this year's roster. St. Scholastica did not do much better than the Blugolds in the preseason poll though, predicted to take sixth in the NCHA. The Saints did receive one first place vote, however. This weekend's game is a non-conference matchup. The puck is set to drop at 7 p.m. at Hobbs Ice Center. - KM - |
