EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire women's soccer team won its last regular season home game against UW-Oshkosh today with a 4-1 victory at the Bollinger Fields.

The Blugolds, who entered the game ranked 22nd in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll, improve their overall record to 14-1-2 and 6-1-0 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC). Oshkosh drops to 6-7-2 overall and 2-4-1 in the WIAC. The Titans have only beaten UW-Superior and UW-Platteville in the WIAC.

The Blugolds started scoring early in the game with a goal from Amy Smith (Sr.-Bloomington, Minn./Thomas Jefferson), assisted by Liz Kooistra (Sr.-Lakeville, Minn.) in the fifth minute. Rachel Nerison (Fr.-Maple Grove, Minn.) stepped up to score an unassisted goal just over a minute later in the game. The Titans started to build a comeback with a goal in the 28th minute, but Kooistra ended their momentum with a goal in the 30th minute that was assisted by Smith. Nerison scored the final goal of the game in the 75th minute with an assist from Jessica Millard (Sr.-Madison, Wis./La Follette).

Eau Claire finished the game with 16 shots, nine of which were on goal. Oshkosh ended with only two shots-on-goal. The Titans' keeper Brittany Walder had a busy day in the net, allowing four goals and having five saves. Eau Claire's Allie Rivard (Sr.-Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata) had a split day, allowing one goal in and saving another. Eau Claire had the 4-0 advantage over Oshkosh in corner kicks.

The Blugolds are now unbeaten in six straight contests against the Titans and improve to an all-time series record of 19-3-2. The last time the Titans edged a win against the Blugolds was in 2004.

Up next for the Blugolds will be a weekday game against UW-Platteville this Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. The game will be played in Platteville.
