Tue, May 21, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Tennis Picks Up Win Over River Falls Posted: Wednesday, October 1, 2008 RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team pushed its winning streak to six today, defeating UW-River Falls 7-2. Eau Claire is now 7-3 in dual meets and 3-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. River Falls drops to 7-3 overall and 1-3 in the conference. The Blugolds swept doubles competition today, allowing only nine points total in the three matches. Brenna McCormick (Jr.-Greendale, Wis.) and Erin Welch (Jr.-Tomah, Wis.) gave up only one point in their victory at No. 2. Gina Dahl (Jr.-Fort Atkinson, Wis.) and Courtney Lynne (Jr.-Rochester, Minn./Mayo) won at No. 1 doubles, while Emily Hiebl (Fr.-Wausau, Wis./East) and Jackie Gillespie (Fr.-De Pere, Wis.) won at No. 3. Both flights picked up 8-4 victories. In singles play, Dahl defeated the Falcons' Kathryne Ostrowski 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1. McCormick allowed only one point in two sets to win 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles against Katie Lynn Anderson. At No. 4, Welch defeated Lindsay Gillman 6-1, 6-2, while Michelle Reinders (So.-Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) picked up a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Brittany Bonine in the No. 5 match.
