Rivard Selected As WIAC Athlete Of The Week

MADISON, Wis. - For the second week in a row, UW-Eau Claire soccer goalkeeper Allie Rivard (Sr. -Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata) has been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) athlete of the week for defense, conference spokesman Matt Stanek announced today.
Rivard helped the Blugolds stay undefeated in conference play (3-0) and unbeaten on the season (9-0-2) with three shutouts on the road during the week. She was credited with three saves in a 13-0 win over UW-Superior on Sept. 24 and followed that with a two-save performance against UW-La Crosse on Sept. 27 in a 2-0 triumph. Against Loras College (Iowa) on Sept. 28, Rivard made two breakaway saves with the Blugolds holding a 1-0 lead. The Duhawks entered the match ranked No. 5 in the Central Region.
