Wed, May 22, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Tennis Picks Up Win Over Stevens Point Posted: Friday, September 26, 2008 EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team defeated conference rival UW-Stevens Point today 8-1 .
Eau Claire went undefeated in doubles competition against the Pointers. The No. 1 duo of Gina Dahl (Jr.-Fort Atkinson, Wis.) and Courtney Lynne (Jr.-Rochester, Minn./Mayo) won their its matches 8-4. Erin Welch (Jr.-Tomah, Wis.) and partner Brenna McCormick (Jr.-Greendale, Wis.) followed suit by winning their matches 8-4 at the No. 2 doubles. The No. 3 doubles team of Jackie Gillespie (Fr.-De Pere, Wis.) and Emily Hiebl (Fr.-Wausau, Wis./East) picked up an 8-6 victory, completing the doubles sweep. When it came to the single's side, Dahl, McCormick, Welch, Michelle Reinders (So.-Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) and Lynne all added wins to the list at the No. 1, No. 3, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 spots, respectively. Megan Born (Fr.-Antigo, Wis.) was the only Blugold to fall tonight at No. 2 singles. The Blugolds don't have much of a break before their next meets. Saturday the Blugolds will face St. Scholastica and Bethel at 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. respectively, while Wednesday the Blugolds will take on UW-River Falls at 3:30 p.m. in River Falls. - KM - |

The Blugolds are now over the .500 mark in dual meets this year with a 4-3 record, including a 2-1 record in conference play. UW-Stevens Point drops to a dual meet record of 5-2 and a conference record of 1-1 with the loss today.
