Fri, May 24, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Golf Takes Fourth At Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic Posted: Sunday, September 21, 2008 NORMAL, Ill. -- The UW-Claire women's golf team finished where day one left off at the Illinois Wesleyan University Fall Golf Classic, taking home a fourth place finish at the Ironwood Country Club in Normal, Ill. UW-Stevens Point finished in first place with a two-day score of 608. Otterbein (Ohio) finished in second place with 624, and Illinois Wesleyan moved up one spot to take third place with 629 strokes. Eau Claire improved their team score from 320 on day one to 311 on day two to finish with 631 strokes overall. Western Illinois wrapped up the top five with a score of 636. UW-Stevens Point's Michelle Pascavis was the top individual finisher, with a score of 74 on day one and 72 on day two for a total of 146, just two shots over par. Torie Ives (Jr.-Osseo, Wis/Osseo-Fairchild) led Eau Claire with 75 strokes on day one and 80 strokes today for a total of 155, good for a ninth place tie with Western Illinois' Claire Gursh and Illinois Wesleyan's Nicole Spear. Katie Maurer (Forest Lake, Minn./Convent of the Visitation) tied with four other golfers for 13th place. Maurer shot a 82 on day one and a team-best 75 today, for a score of 157. Emily Swift (Fr.-Onalaska, Wis.) tied for 19th place with a combined score of 159. Lauren Gault (Fr.-Shorewood, Wis.) shot 165, tying her for 40th place. Katie Swift (So.-Onalaska, Wis.) shot 171, good for a 59th place tie. Next weekend the Blugolds head to Greencastle, Ind. for the DePauw Fall Classic. Round one tees off on Saturday, with the event wrapping up on Sunday. - CL - |
