Thu, Jun 20, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Golf Tied For Fourth After Day One Posted: Saturday, September 20, 2008 NORMAL, Ill. - The UW-Eau Claire Women's Golf team sits tied for fourth place in the 23 team event with the host school, Illinois Wesleyan, with a score of 320 after day one of the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Golf Classic at the Ironwood Country Club in Normal, Ill. UW-Stevens Point leads the event with a team score of 303. Otterbein College (Ohio) follows in second place with 310 strokes, and Western Illinois University rounds out the top three with 319 strokes. The Blugolds were paced by Torie Ives' (Jr.-Osseo, Wis./Osseo-Fairchild) round one score of 75. That puts her in a tie for fourth place with Stevens Point's Jessica Urban. With 81 strokes, Emily Swift (Fr.-Onalaska, Wis.) is tied for 25th place with Otterbein's Kelly Butler. Katie Maurer (Fr.-Forest Lake, Minn./Convent of the Visitation) and Katie Swift (So.-Onalaska, Wis.) are tied for 30th place, shooting an 82 on the day. Lauren Gault (Fr.-Shorewood, Wis.) wraps up the Blugolds' scoring, tied for 61st place with an 87. The tournament's individual leader at the end of day one is a three-way tie. Illinois Wesleyan's Lindsey Haines, Otterbein's Catherine Brunoehler and Stevens Point's Michelle Pascavis all ended the day with a score of 74. The Blugolds are back on the links for day two of the Illinois Wesleyan University Fall Golf Classic tomorrow. The starting time for the event is to be announced. - CL - |
