Women's Cross Country Wins Whitewater Invite

WHITEWATER, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire women's cross country team took the top spot of 10 teams at the UW-Whitewater Invitational today.
The Blugolds led the ten-team field with their top five runners all finishing 10th or better. In addition, nine Blugold women finished 16th or better overall.
Mary Palmer (Sr.-Anoka, Minn.) led the Blugolds today, taking second place overall with a time of 24:15. Finishing in fourth place overall with a time of 24:35 was Hannah Humbach (Jr.-Madison, Wis./Abundant Life Christian), while Beth Easker (So.-Wittenberg, Wis./Wittenberg-Birnamwood) finished with a time of 25:01 in seventh. Elly Prunty (Jr.-Antigo, Wis.) was eight seconds behind Easker for an eighth place finish, and Molly Woodford (So.-Waukesha, Wis./South) took 10th with a time of 25:24.
The Blugolds will have next weekend off and will then head to St. Paul, Minn. for the University of Minnesota's Roy Griak Invite on September 27.
