Thu, May 23, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Golf Takes Fifth At Home Invite Posted: Sunday, August 31, 2008 EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire women's golf team shot the fifth lowest round of the day at Wild Ridge Golf Course to take fifth place overall after the two-day UW-Eau Claire Fall Invitational. Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) took home the team trophy with 646 strokes. Wartburg College (Iowa), which led after round one yesterday, finished one stroke back for second place. The University of St. Thomas (Minn.) finished in third place overall with 661 strokes, while UW-Stevens Point shot 666 for fourth. The Blugolds ended the invite with 676 strokes for their fifth place finish. On the individual side, Wartburg's Steph Burns received medalist honors. On day one at Mill Run Golf Course, Burns finished with 79 strokes while she needed only 78 at Wild Ridge to win the individual championship. She finished with a two-day total of 157 (+12) For the Blugolds, freshman Lauren Gault (Shorewood, Wis.) had the lowest total for the second day in a row. She shot 82 today and 80 yesterday for a total of 162, tying for 10th place overall. Katie Maurer (Fr.-Forest Lake, Minn./Convent of the Visitation) ended with 171 strokes after shooting 86 today to tie for 27th place. Torie Ives (Jr.-Osseo, Wis./Osseo-Fairchild) ended the invite with 172 strokes, while Emily Swift (Fr.-Onalaska, Wis.) had 173, tying for 34th and 40th, respectively. Jamie Hauser (Fr.-Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) led the Blugolds' second team with scores of 85 on day one and 87 on day two. She finished tied for 34th overall.
