Thu, Jun 20, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Faller Named First Team Academic All-American Posted: Wednesday, June 25, 2008 EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - UW-Eau Claire women's track and field member Liz Faller (Sr. -Marinette, Wis.) has been selected as a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America Women's Track and Field/Cross Country First Team College Division member, officials announced today. This is the second time Faller has been selected as an Academic All-American. Last season she was recognized as a second team recipient. She is the second Blugold this year to receive Academic All-American recognition. Earlier this week, Sam Johnson was selected to the Academic All-American men's track and field/cross country second team. Only 12 different Blugolds have ever been named a first team Academic All-American. Faller, a Kinesiology major with a 3.98 cumulative GPA, earned All-American honors in the 100 and 400-meter hurdles at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship this season, making her a three-time Outdoor All-American. Faller finished in second place in the 100-meter event, with a conference and school record time of 13.98. In the 400-meter hurdles, Faller took seventh with a time of 62.00. She earned All-American status two seasons ago in the 100-meter hurdles, and last season during indoor competition Faller earned All-American honors for a third place finish in the 55-meter hurdles. She also earned honors as team MVP twice in her career. - KM - |
