Women's Cross Country Participates In Tri-Meet

LAKE WISSOTA - The UW-Eau Claire women's cross country team battled both UW-Stout and UW-La Crosse Friday afternoon at the Lake Wissota Tri-Meet.
No team scores were kept in the event. Eau Claire finished with three runners in the top 10, with Jane Ovanin (Jr.-Amherst) finishing in second place with a time of 19:22.
Christina Locke (So.-Racine/Horlick) was second on the Blugold team and fifth overall in a time of 19:36 while Rachel Anderson (Jr.-St. Paul, MN/Harding) took ninth place with a time of 19:52.
Kersten Wilson of UW-Stout was the top overall finisher with a time of 19:16 on the course. The Blue Devils' Stephanie Nichols took third in a time of 19:24.
The women will be back in action next Saturday when they travel to River Falls for the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship. The women's competition is set to begin at noon.
