Soccer Falls To Stevens Point

EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire soccer team fell to conference leader UW-Stevens Point 3-0 here today at the Bollinger Fields.
The Pointers got on the board early with a goal from Alyssa Souza at the 6:19 mark. The Blugold defense was able to hold Stevens Point scoreless for the rest of the first half.
Stevens Point struck early again in the second half. Souza scored her second goal of the game at the 47:55 mark. The Pointers would add one more goal with less than eight minutes left to play for the final margin.
Eau Claire was outshot 16-5. Annie Scharenbroich (So.-White Bear Lake, MN/South) stopped eight shots in goal.
The loss drops Eau Claire 2-4-1 in conference and 6-8-1 overall.
The Blugolds will conclude their season when they travel to Superior Wednesday. The match is set to kick off at 3 p.m.
