Eau Claire, Whitewater Play To A Tie
Posted: Friday, October 15, 2004
EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire soccer team held UW-Whitewater scoreless on only two shots but was unable to score themselves in playing the Warhawks to a 0-0 tie in double overtime here today at the Bollinger Fields.
The Blugolds held Whitewater to a shot in each half while getting off eight shots of their own in regulation. Eau Claire got off another shot in overtime but couldn't convert.
Annie Scharenbroich (So.-White Bear Lake, MN/South) stopped both Warhawk shots while Whitewater's Jamie Carollo stopped four shots.
The shutout was the fourth of the year for Scharenbroich and the rest of the Blugolds. It was only the second time this year Eau Claire has been shut out.
The Blugolds will host their final home game of the regular season tomorrow against UW-Stevens Point as part of Senior Day. The match is set to begin at 2 p.m. at the Bollinger Fields.
