Sun, May 19, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Swimmers & Divers Kick Off Season Saturday Posted: Thursday, October 14, 2004 EAU CLAIRE - Both the UW-Eau Claire men's and women's swimming and diving teams will begin the 2004-05 season this Saturday when the Blugolds host the Midwest Coed Relays at the McPhee Physical Education Center. The event is scheduled to begin at noon and will include UW-Oshkosh, UW-River Falls, UM-Mankato, and UM-St. Cloud. The relays include men and women on each relay team. The Blugolds took second place out of five teams last season at the Midwest Coed, winning the 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle and 400-yard medley events. The 100-yard freestyle team of Cori Severson (Jr.-Brainerd, MN), Mike Lotzer, Calli King (So.-Madison/Memorial) and Steve Fisher (Sr.-Shoreview, MN/Moundsview) finished first in a time of 43.70 while the 200-yard freestyle team of King, Severson, Fisher and Matt Schuebel (Sr.-Racine/Horlick) finished first with a time of 1:36.40. The 400-yard medley team of Schuebel, Annie Gorman (Jr.-Menomonie), Peter Shafe (So.-Burlington) and Liz Von Feldt finished .07 seconds ahead of St. Cloud State with a time of 4:04.71. St. Cloud took first in last year's competition with Oshkosh finishing third, Mankato taking fourth, and River Falls rounding out the competition in fifth place. The competition is set to begin at noon at the McPhee Physical Education Center. - DN - |
