EAU CLAIRE - Coming off a tough 2-1 loss against UW-Stout on Tuesday, the UW-Eau Claire women's soccer team will look for back-to-back wins this weekend when they host UW-Whitewater on Friday and UW-Stevens Point on Saturday.

The matches will be the last two home events of the season for Eau Claire. The Blugolds come into the match with a 6-7-0 overall record and a 2-3-0 mark in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference while the Warhawks currently carry a 7-7-0 mark and a 2-4-0 WIAC record. The Pointers come into Saturday's match up with a 9-4-1 mark and a 5-1 record in the WIAC. The Blugolds have lost 17 straight matches against the Pointers and are winless in their last 22 contests. The last time Eau Claire defeated Stevens Point was the 1991 season.

Eau Claire will look to the duo of Marcia Foltz (Jr.-Madison/Memorial) and Becky Sitter (Fr.-Waupaca) to mount an offensive attack against the Warhawks. Foltz leads the team with 14 points on the season, including a team-best six goals. Sitter has five goals and 12 points on the year and had a big week last week, prompting head coach Sean Yengo to nominate her for conference player-of-the-week honors. Sitter scored the game-winner in Eau Claire's 2-1 win over La Crosse and also assisted on Foltz's goal, which got the scoring started. The first-year Blugold also tallied Eau Claire's lone goal in a 4-1 loss to River Falls earlier in the week.

Blugold goalie Annie Scharenbroich (So.-White Bear Lake, MN/South) earned Yengo's nomination for defensive player-of-the-week after saving nine shots against La Crosse, including a penalty shot in the late moments of the game to preserve the win. Scharenbroich has played over 1,100 minutes in goal this season, allowing 23 goals and making 59 saves.

The Warhawks are fresh off an incredible 2-1 loss in double overtime to Stevens Point. Whitewater has shown its offensive capabilities, scoring 12 goals in a 12-0 win over Rockford College on October 2. The 12 goals are third most in Whitewater team history.

Leading the Warhawk attack is Jacie Hein, who has a team best 17 points on eight goals and one assists. Amy Hanson and Gina McRoberts are tied for second on the team with 10 points apiece. Jamie Carollo has been solid in net for the Warhawks, stopping 64 shots while allowing 23 goals in nearly 1,100 minutes.

Friday's meeting between the Blugolds and Warhawks will be the 16th meeting all-time between the two teams. Eau Claire has dominated the series, posting a 13-2 record against Whitewater. The Warhawks earned one of their two all-time victories against the Blugolds last season, a 3-2 victory on September 13.

The Pointers are led by Alyssa Souza who has a team-best eight goals and 20 points. Kimie Wiepz has added seven goals and 16 points while Mary Donohoo has tallied nine assists and three goals for 15 points. Stevens Point has posted a dominating record of 23-3-3 all-time against the Blugolds.

The battle between Eau Claire and Whitewater is set to begin at 3:00 p.m. on Friday while the Blugolds and Pointers will square off at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both matches will be held at the Bollinger Fields in Eau Claire.
