Wed, May 22, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Brigl Garners NCHA Player Of The Week Honors Posted: Monday, February 18, 2008 MENOMONIE, Wis. - UW-Eau Claire men's hockey goalie Tyler Brigl (So. -Eagan, Minn.) has been named the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) player of the week, conference spokesman Layne Pitt announced today. Brigl posted his fourth shutout of the season as the Blugolds defeated UW-Stevens Point 2-0 on Saturday. The win allowed the Blugolds to move up to a fifth place finish in the NCHA, their best finish since the 2001-02 season. In the victory, Brigl stopped 19 shots, bringing his save total to 532 on the season. He has saved 90.3 percent of shots faced this year. Brigl's four shutouts this year is the most in a single year in program history. He now has five shutouts in his career which ranks first all-time among Blugold goalies. - KM - |
