Wed, Jun 19, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Track & Field Finishes Fourth At Blugold Open Posted: Friday, January 18, 2008 EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire women's track and field team placed fourth out of eight teams at the Blugold Open hosted in the Ade Olson Addition at UW-Eau Claire tonight. For the second year in a row UW-La Crosse won the event, scoring189 points. St. Thomas placed second with 133 and Winona State took third with 107. The Blugolds scored 93 for their fourth place finish and were followed by Bethel University with 53 points. Liz Kooistra (Jr.-Lakeville, Minn.) was the only Blugold to take the top spot in an event tonight, finishing with a time of 2:16.35 in the 800-meter run. She edged the second place finisher from St. Thomas by just over a half-second but finished well ahead of the other runners. Amy Bachinski (So.-Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH) took a second place finish in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.56. Hannah Humbach (So.-Madison, Wis./Abundant Life) also had a second place finish in the one-mile run with a time of 5:15.69. Three Blugolds finished in the top four in the 3000-meter run. Molly Warner (Sr.-Mosinee, Wis.) took second with a time of 10:53.55 while teammate Claudia Borlee (Sr.-Green Bay, Wis./Preble) finished behind her with a time of 10:58.40. Elly Prunty (So.-Antigo, Wis.) completed the race in fourth place with a time of 10.59.57. In the field events, Alicia Schuelke (Jr.-Gilman, Wis.) finished tied for second in the high jump with a 1.52-meter jump while Amy Morse (Jr.-Kaukauna, Wis.) took third in the weight throw with a 14.48-meter throw. Up next the Blugolds will travel to the UW-Whitewater Invitational, which is set to begin at 10 a.m. Saturday. - KM - |
