Swimming & Diving Take On Division I Competitors At Falcon Invite

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The UW-Eau Claire men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed in the second and final day of action at the Minnesota Aquatic Center for the UW-River Falls' Falcon Invitational today.
Schools including the University of Minnesota, University of South Dakota and University of North Dakota, among many others, fielded teams. Eau Claire still found itself in the top 10 in some events and the top 15 in several events.
Brian Jordan (Sr.- Madison, WI/West) finished 9th in the 100-yard butterfly with the time of 54:33. Patrick Finley (Jr.- Waunakee, WI), Tom Dahl (Fr.- Minnetonka, MN/Hopkins), Ben Macalalad (Fr.- Wasau, WI/West), and Jordan finished 6th with a time of 7:25.53 in the 800-yard freestyle relay. Macalalad finished 10th in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:20.39.
On the women's side Angie Bakula (Fr.- Appleton, WI/West) finished 7th in the women's 1650-yard freestyle with the time of 18:28.41. In other women's action the relay team of Amanda Kroger (Sr.- Shoreview, MN/Mounds View), Mari Kissell (Fr.- Apple Valley, MN), Amy Stewart (So.- South Milwaukee, WI), and Bakula took 11th in the 800-yard freestyle with the time of 8:27.49.
The Blugolds will be back in action next weekend when they host UW-La Crosse at McPhee in Eau Claire at 1 p.m.
