Sat, May 18, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Basketball Roster Includes 11 Letterwinners Posted: Tuesday, October 30, 2007 Eleven letterwinners and five freshmen make up the 2007-08 UW-Eau Claire women's basketball roster, announced today by eighth-year coach Tonja Englund. The Blugolds return eight players who at one time started last season. Four letterwinners were lost from the 2006-07 team. The team finished last season with a promising 19-9 record, which included an undefeated 13-0 record at home. Senior Michelle Burns and junior Heidi Arciszewski both started all 28 games last year. Junior Brittanni Hakanson started 27 games, and senior Amanda Zenner started 26 games. Junior Missy Fremstad started 14 games, and junior Heather Witt started 12. Senior Rachel Mueggenborg and junior Ashley Anderson started a few games for the Blugolds last year. The other returning letterwinners include: senior Kali Houselog, junior Pam Kaye, and sophomore Jodi Lindner. Sophomore Kari Kaeding joins the team after a year of absence from playing. The true freshmen are 6-1 Jackie Hauser from Whitehall, 6-2 Hannah Mesick from Chatfield, 5-8 Ashley Hightower from La Crosse Logan, and 5-7 Katie Weinberg from St. Croix Falls. The 2007-08 team has four seniors, six juniors, one sophomore, and five freshmen. The team makeup includes eight guards, five forwards, and three centers. The team will have six players who are 6-0 or taller, and 14 players from Wisconsin and two from Minnesota. The 2007-08 team will be appearing in the annual Blue & Gold intrasquad scrimmage, Thursday, November 1 at 8 p.m. -SB- |
