Blugold Soccer To Host Titans

EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire soccer team will host Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foe UW-Oshkosh Friday at the Bollinger Fields.
Eau Claire comes into the match with a 4-4 record with wins in their last two and three of their last four matches. The Blugolds defeated UW-Platteville 5-0 in their only WIAC match of the year.
The Blugold offense will need to step it up with loss of Maria Iaizzo (Jr.-White Bear Lake, MN) due to injury. Marcia Foltz (Jr.-Madison/Memorial) is currently tied with Iaizzo for the team lead in points. Foltz has scored four goals and assisted on two others.
Kelly Peterson (Jr.-Hudson) stepped up her play against Luther scoring two goals to give her three for the season. Becky Sitter (Fr.-Waupaca) has scored five points on two goals and an assist.
Oshkosh enters the game with a 5-2-1 record including a conference win over UW-Whitewater. The Titans tied UW-River Falls in two overtimes and lost to UW-Stevens Point 2-1.
The Titan offense is led by Nicole Kunick's 16 points and seven goals. Kunick's seven goals are tied for seventh in the conference and her 16 points are fifth in the WIAC. Maggie Hoffman and Karin Reinke have each contributed 10 points this year.
The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
