The UW-Eau Claire women's cross country team took second place out of eight teams today at the Old English Invite. Beloit College took first place. UW-Eau Claire Blugolds followed in second place. Lawrence University placed third. Wisconsin Track Club took fourth and Milwaukee School of Engineering took fifth. The top Blugold finisher was Monica Rolbiecki (Fr.-Eau Claire, WI/North). Rolbiecki placed fourth overall. Following Rolbiecki was Lauren Novak (So.-New Berlin, WI/West) in seventh place overall. Kelly Palmer (So.-Chanhassen, MN/Chaska) was third for the Blugolds and placed 11th overall. After Palmer was Megan Bell (Jr.-West Bend, WI/West). Bell was 16th overall and fourth for the Blugolds. Rebecca Lake (Fr.-Edgar, WI) was fifth for the Blugolds and was 20th overall. Amanda Denamur (Fr.-Tomahawk, WI) was sixth for the Blugolds and placed 23rd overall. Julie Meis (Jr.-Platteville, WI) was seventh for the Blugolds and was 26th overall. Coach Dan Schwamberger said the heat affected the runners today. "I am happy with how we did today despite the bad conditions," Coach Schwamberger said. Next up for the Blugolds is the UW-La Crosse Drews/Neubauer Invite on October 13, 2007.
