Soccer Beats I94 Rival Stout

MENOMONIE, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire women's soccer team earned its eighth shut-out on the season beating UW-Stout 3-0 tonight.
The Blugolds move to 9-0-1 overall and 3-0-0 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Blue Devils drop too 2-11-0 overall and 1-4-0 in the WIAC.
The Blugolds offense led the way with 23 shots, 13 of them on goal. The defense for Eau Claire only allowed two shots, one of which was on goal.
Eau Claire got on the board 43:23 into the first half to take the 1-0. Shannon Conlin (Fr.- Reedsburg, WI) scored her first goal of the season with the assist going to Allison Smith (Jr.- Bloomington, MN/Thomas Jefferson).
Sam Krueger (So.- Elkhorn, WI) scored the second goal of the game and the first for her on the season. The goal came at the 66:36 mark, Amy Smith (Jr.- Bloomington, MN/Thomas Jefferson) assisted on the goal.
Liz Kooistra (Jr.- Lakeville, MN) scored the third and final goal of the game at the 81:49 mark. Kooistra has four goals on the season for the Blugolds. Smith got the assist, her second of the game, and fifth of the season.
Liz Weirick (Sr.- Kenosha, WI/Tremper) took the net in the first half and faced no shots. Allie Rivard (Jr.- Plymouth, MN/Wayzata) took the net in the second half she faced two shots and had one save.
The Blugolds will travel to UW-Stevens Point on Saturday. The game is set to start at 1 p.m.
