Wed, May 22, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date thompson Leads Blugolds To Win At Whitewater Invite Posted: Sunday, September 26, 2004 AVALON - Jesse Thompson (So. -Stevens Point/SPASH) shot a 1-over 73 today to vault herself and the UW-Eau Claire women's golf team to first place finishes at the UW-Whitewater Invitational concluded here today at the Prairie Woods Golf Course. The Blugolds shaved 15 strokes off of yesterday's round with Thompson and Meghan Sobotta (Fr.-Arcadia) each taking nine strokes off of their first rounds. Thompson finished with an 11-over 155 while Sobotta tied for second with a 13-over 157. Eau Claire shot 18 strokes better than any other team today. Maggie Loney (Jr.-River Falls) tied for eighth going 20-over for the tournament while Kelly Gerzsenyi (So.-Rochester, MN/Mayo) finished 14th with a 169. Andrea Kloppman (Sr.-Eau Claire/Memorial) tied for 46th with a 189 with Mandy Madson (Fr.-Ashwaubenon) shooting a 206 to finish tied for 77th. Eau Claire will tee off next when they compete at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational Saturday and Sunday. The meet is set to begin at 9 a.m.
