Wed, Jun 19, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Soccer Back To Winning Ways Posted: Sunday, September 16, 2007 NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The UW-Eau Claire soccer team gets back on track with a 2-0 victory today over St. Olaf (MN). Eau Claire coming off a 1-1 tie with the University of Chicago was looking for revenge on St. Olaf who gave the Blugolds one of their three loses last year. The Blugolds jumped on the board early scoring their first goal at 15:45 in the first half. Amy Smith (Jr.-Bloomington, MN/Jefferson) scored her second goal of the season with the assist going to Brittany Burant (Fr.-Stevens Point,WI). Less than a minute later Haelee Maurer (Fr.-Appleton, WI/West) scored her second goal of the season. Two goals is more than goal Allie Rivard (Jr.-Plymouth, MN/Wayzata) would need. Rivard had two saves with only six total shots on goal for the Oles. Eau Claire kept the pressure on St. Olaf's goalie with 13 shots on net and nine corner kicks. The Blugolds now 5-0-1 will face UW-La Crosse next weekend (parent's weekend) at the Bollinger Fields in Eau Claire. The game is set to start at 12:00. - KD - |
