Posted: Wednesday, September 12, 2007
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire women's soccer team will play host to the University of Chicago on Saturday at the Bollinger Fields in Eau Claire.
The last time the Blugolds and the Maroons took the field was during the 1995-1996 season where each team picked up a win.
Eau Claire enters Saturday's match ranked sixth in the latest NSCAA/adidas poll and ranked second in the Central Region with a 4-0-0 record. Chicago enters the weekend with the same 4-0-0 record. Chicago is ranked 21st in the NSCAA/adidas poll and forth in the Central Region.
Jessica Millard (Jr.-Madison) and Liz Kooistra (Jr.-Lakeville) lead the Blugolds in scoring with two a piece. Allowing only one goal in four contests Allie Rivard (Jr.-Plymouth) has nine saves on the season.
On Sunday, Eau Claire will travel to Northfield, Minnesota to take on St. Olaf. The Oles are looking for their first win of the season after a 0-4-0 start. St. Olaf women's soccer team is one of three teams to give Eau Claire a loss in their 2006 season. The Oles beat the Blugolds 1-0 in a contest at Bollinger Field.
Saturday, Eau Claire will take on Chicago at the Bollinger Fields at 11 a.m. The Blugolds will travel to Minnesota on Sunday to take on the Oles at 2:00 p.m. That game will take place at Rolf Mellby Field.
