Thu, May 23, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Men's Golf Takes Bronze In First Meet Of Season Posted: Monday, September 10, 2007 MINNEAPOLIS - The UW-Eau Claire men's golf team started its season by placing third out of 17 schools today at the Augsburg Fall Invitational. The Blugolds shot a +40 score of 612. First place went to Gustavus Adolphus College (MN) and its 589 score. St. John's University (MN) finished second at 606. Gustavus Adolphus Black took fourth while shooting 614 and St. John's Blue grabbed fifth on a 615-stroke performance. The Blugolds were tied for third with the first St. John's team and the second Gustavus Adolphus team after yesterday's play at Crow River Golf Club. Peter Wendt (Sr.-Lake Mills) was the top Eau Claire golfer today at the Chaska Town Course, tying for seventh after nailing par on a 72 this afternoon. He hit 150 over both days for the placement. Derek Bauer (Sr.-Inver Grove Heights, MN/Eagan) and Mason Milner (Sr.-Onalaska) both tied at 16th place on 154 strokes. Milner hit 77's both days while Bauer had a 73 yesterday and an 81 today. Aaron Nelson (So.-River Falls) and Ben Ziemann (So.-Eau Claire/Memorial) rounded out Eau Claire's top five, with Nelson golfing 158 and tying for 30th and Ziemann tallying a 165 and tying for 61st. Eric Harris from Gustavus Adolphus won individual honors with a one-over-par 144 score. The Blugolds will be back in action on Saturday and Sunday when they participate in the St. John's Invite. - PH- |
