Fri, May 24, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Men's Track & Field Competes At Oshkosh Open Posted: Saturday, April 28, 2007 OSHKOSH - The majority of the UW-Eau Claire's men's track and field team competed at the UW-Oshkosh Men's and Women's Track and Field Open today. The lone winner for the Blugolds came in the 10,000-meter run where Kyle Kopidlansky (Fr.-Manitowoc, WI/Lincoln) won with a time of 35:10.52 seconds. Eau Claire took second and third in the high jump as Andrew Kling (So.-Marshfield, WI) placed second leaping a height of 6-2 and Nate Woodward (Fr.-De Pere, WI) jumped the same height to finish third. Joe Felber (So.-Manitowoc, WI/Lincoln) finished second in the triple jump with a distance of 46-5.25. Kirk Schmidt (Fr.-Athens, WI) placed fourth in that event with a distance of 45-3.75. The Blugolds 4x400-meter relay "A" team placed third with a time of 3:30.93 seconds. Also placing third was Chris Wirtz (Fr.-Weston, WI/Schofield D.C. Everest) in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:05.20 seconds. Tony Carr (So.-Menomonie, WI) finished fourth for the Blugolds in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:59.84 seconds. Ryan Brohmer (Sr.-La Crosse, WI/Logan) also placed fourth in the men's hammer throw with a distance of 173-11. Josh Boehm (Jr.-Mosinee, WI) placed fifth in the pole vault, clearing a height of 14-0.75. Dan Powers (Fr.-New Richmond, WI) and Scott Liebelt (Jr.-Eau Claire, WI/North) finished fifth and sixth respectively in the long jump competition. Powers jumped a distance of 21-4.75 and Liebelt leaped a distance of 21-3.5. Andy Warren (So.-Kenosha, WI/Bradford) and Ben Pearson (Fr.-Clinton, WI) also finished fifth and sixth in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Warren ran a time of 10:19.67 and Pearson ran 10:20.08 seconds. The Blugolds had one relay team that still had to compete at the Drake Relays. The 1600-meter sprint medley team of Nick Aliota (Sr.-Brookfield, WI/Central), Bryan Tschudy (So.-New Richmond, WI), Chris Kupfer (So.-Germantown, WI), Joseph Veriga (Sr.-Cudahy, WI) placed 15th with a time of 3:29.74. Next, the Blugolds will compete at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Outdoor Championships hosted by River Falls on Friday and Saturday.
