Tue, May 21, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Men's Tennis Runs Streak To Five Posted: Saturday, April 14, 2007 EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team won its fifth straight match today with a 5-4 victory over UW-Oshkosh. The team improves to 13-7 on the year. It is only the second 5-4 win of the season. The other came against Augustana College (IL) on Feb. 16. The Blugolds took two matches in doubles. Phil Loprinzi (Fr.-Rochester, MN/Mayo) teamed with Aaron Nordenskjold (Sr.-Red Wing, MN) for an 8-3 win in No. 2 doubles. Jeff Peterson (Sr.-Edina, MN) and Erik Brandner (Jr.-Eau Claire/Memorial) had to go to nine points to take their triumph, a 9-7 victory in No. 3 doubles. Two of Eau Claire's singles victories went to three sets. Steve Lantz (So.-Rochester, MN/Century) won 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the No. 2 matchup while Loprinzi took the No. 6 sets 7-6, 4-6, 6-2. Peterson also won 6-3, 6-1 in No. 5 play. The team's season will conclude today with a match against UW-Whitewater, which defeated UW-La Crosse 9-0 today. Eau Claire 5, Oshkosh 4 Singles Doubles |
