Men's Golf Eighth After Day One Of St. John's Golf Invite

SAUK CENTRE, Minn. - The UW-Eau Claire men's golf team opened the 2004-05 season with an opening round score of 324 ending the day in eighth place at the 17-team St. John's Fall Golf Invitational played here today at the Grey Stone Golf Club.
Defending NCAA Division III national champion Gustavus Adolphus leads after day with shooting a 305 followed by St. Cloud State with 313 and host St. John's with a 314.
Derek Pirkl (Jr.-Stoughton) is five strokes off the individual lead after firing an opening-round 76. Grant Lissick (Jr.-Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake) recorded an 80 followed by Mike Greer (So.-White Bear Lake, MN) with an 83. Aaron Olson (Sr.-Chetek) and Mason Milner (Fr.-Onalaska) finished the day scoring an 85 and 86, respectively.
The Blugolds will conclude the two-day St. John's Fall Invitational tomorrow.
