Sat, May 25, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Tennis Drops Pair Of Matches Posted: Thursday, March 22, 2007 ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FLORIDA - The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis lost for only the second and third times this season in matches against Calvin College of Michigan and Trinity College of Connecticut here Thursday. Calvin won four of six singles matches to eke out a 5-4 triumph while Trinity, an NCAA tournament participant from 2000 through 2003, notched a convincing 8-1 triumph. Freshmen Brenna McCormick (Greendale) and Erin Welch (Tomah) registered the only Blugold singles wins against Calvin at the No. 5 and No. 6 spots, both claiming straight-set triumphs. Junior Kristie Carlson (Arden Hills, MN/Mounds View) dropped a three-setter at the No. 2 position. The Blugolds gained two doubles victories as Carlson and McCormick claimed a triumph at No. 2 and Liz Deprey (Jr.-Green Bay/Notre) and Courtney Lynne (Fr.-Rochester, MN/Mayo) earned the decision at No. 3. Against Trinity, the only triumph came from Carlson and McCormick at No. 2 doubles. Both McCormick and Welch went three sets in their singles matches. The Blugolds, now 3-2 this spring and 13-3 for the year, will close out their spring trip against Connecticut College Friday. Calvin is 5-3 after its win over the Blugolds while Trinity sported a 4-1 record prior to its matches Wedneday and Thursday against the University of Chicago and UWEC.
