Wed, May 22, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Tennis Falls To Luther Posted: Saturday, September 18, 2004 DECORAH, Iowa - The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team fell 5-4 overall on the season in losing to Luther College 9-0 here today. Kristie Carlson (Fr.-Arden Hills, MN/Mounds View) was the only Blugold to win a set forcing a third set. Carlson lost the first set 6-4 but came to win the second by the same score. Carlson continued battling into the third set but eventually fell 12-10 in the decisive set. The Blugolds will be in action next when they compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Championships next weekend at Luther College. The regionals are set to kick off Friday at 9 a.m. Singles No. 1 - Annalise Conaway (LC) def. Katie Kuzma (EC) 6-3, 6-2. No. 2 - Kirsten Madsen (LC) def. Sarah Riordan (EC) 6-2, 6-2. No. 3 - Tasha Allemang (LC) def. Kristie Carlson (EC) 6-4, 4-6, 12-10. No. 4 - Jacie Haroldson (LC) def. Alli Taplin (EC) 6-1, 6-1. No. 5 - Molly Beyer (LC) def. Laura Geissler (EC) 6-2, 6-2. No. 6 - Heidi Bothum (LC) def. Lindsey Lee (EC) 6-4, 6-0. Doubles No. 1 - Madsen/Huinker (LC) def. Kuzma/Geissler (EC) 8-3. No. 2 - Conaway/Allemang (LC) def. Carlson/Riordan (EC) 8-4.
