Sun, May 26, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Wrestling Rebounds With Win Over Lakeland Posted: Friday, February 2, 2007 EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire wrestling team rebounded from a dual meet loss earlier this week with a victory tonight over Lakeland College by a score of 28-19 at the McPhee Physical Education Center. The win improves the Blugolds overall dual meet record this season to 12-5. Andy Miller (So.-Appleton, WI/North) at 133 pounds got the Blugolds started tonight with a technical fall win, 19-2 over Noe Deleon with two seconds left in the third period. Andy Johnston (Fr.-St. Cloud, MN/Tech) at 141 pounds followed that up with a come from behind 9-7 victory over Kory Theil. Dave Vanevenhoven (Sr.-Appleton, WI/Kaukauna) at 149 pounds defeated Cameron Smit by pin fall at 5:33. Patrick Sensig (So.-Lyndon Station, WI/Mauston) at 157 pounds got the quickest pin of the year as he pinned Jake Frias in 36 seconds. Lance Valiquette (Sr.-Auburn, WA) also won by technical fall as defeated Cody Klopp 18-3. Valiquette has the most wins on the team with 23. Josh Holforty (So.-Bloomington, MN/Kennedy) at 197 pounds got the final win of the night with a 9-2 victory over John Wagner. Holforty has now won ten straight matches. The Blugolds will host the 29th annual UW-Eau Claire Wrestling Invitational tomorrow in the McPhee Physical Education Center. Four of the top five teams in Division III will compete.
