The Blugolds then used a 7-0 run halfway through the first half to take a 19-10 lead with a little than seven minutes remaining in the half. Heidi Arciszewski (So.-Thorp, WI) had five of the seven points. The Blugolds took their biggest lead of the half with 3:24 to go after a Missy Fremstad (So.-Osseo/Osseo-Fairchild) layup made the score 24-14. Superior cut it in half at the break as Eau Claire led 26-21 at halftime.
The Blugolds shot 38% in the half, while Superior shot 36%. The big story of the half was turnovers as the Yellowjackets had 14 and the Blugolds only had five. The Blugolds scored 17 points off of those Superior turnovers.
The Blugolds pulled away right out of the gate in the second half, using a 9-0 run to take a 35-21 lead. Heather Witt (So.-Kendall, WI/Royall) had a couple of fast break layups during that stretch. Superior only got as close as 12 points the rest of the way as the Blugolds shot 65% in the second half. Eau Claire took its biggest lead of the game of 29 with 3:18 remaining after a Heidi Arciszewski jumper. The final margin would also be 29 as the Blugolds won by a score of 72-43.
