Eau Claire is 5-6-1 overall while St. Thomas moves to 4-5-0. This is the second time Eau Claire has lost to the Tommies this season. The Blugold home opener was a 2-1 St. Thomas win. The Tommies outshot Eau Claire 13-to-10 in the first period and scored their first goal 3:15 into the game. Nick Harris then scored his second goal of the game in the middle period. It came just 45 seconds into the period while Todd Alexander scored one at 11:14. Eau Claire was held to four shots in the period compared to 10 for St. Thomas. St. Thomas' Nate Ryan added another goal 15:12 into the third period to make for the final score. In the end the Blugolds were outshot 28-to-21 with Ryan Mensing (So.-Langley, BC/Walnut Grove SS) making 24 saves. The Blugolds went 0-for-6 in advantages and the Tommies went 4-of-11. The Blugolds had 12 penalties while there were seven for the Tommies. The Blugolds travel to face UW-Stevens Point tomorrow in a non-conference matchup.
