The Eagles now hold first place in the conference standings, which account for one-third of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championship, at a 6-0 conference mark. Eau Claire is now 5-1 in the conference with neither team playing again until the WIAC Championships. Overall the Eagles are 8-1 and Eau Claire is 10-1. The only doubles action Eau Claire won was in No. 3 play. Gina Dahl (Fr.-Fort Atkinson) and Liz Deprey (Jr.-Green Bay/Notre Dame) won 8-4 to move their doubles record to 7-1. No. 6 singles competitor Brenna McCormick (Fr.-Greendale) notched the lone Blugold singles win. She triumphed 6-4, 6-1 and is now 7-1 as well. The last time Eau Claire lost a conference dual meet in the season was last year to the day in a 9-0 sweep at the hands of UW-Whitewater. Despite giving up first place to La Crosse, the Blugolds look to still take the conference championship when they head to the WIAC Championships in Madison next Saturday and Sunday.
