Wed, May 22, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Men's Swimming & Diving Roster Announced Posted: Friday, October 13, 2006 EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire men's swimming and diving teams with first year coach Jerry Kollross at the helm unveiled its 2006-07 roster as it prepares for the season. While Kollross had worked with the program previously, but there are many new faces on the team. The freshmen include Alex Colborn (Rochester, MN/Century), Kris Metje (Cape Girardeau, MO/Central), Brett Olsen (New Berlin/West Allis Hale), Joseph Peterson (Lake Elmo, MN/North St. Paul), Kenny Ritt (Racine/Horlick), Matt Schultz (Oakdale, MN/North), Pat Sogla (Eau Claire/North), and Sam Wojta (St. Paul, MN/Central). Both Joseph Peterson and Matt Schultz have brothers on the team. The Peterson kin include Bill Peterson (So.-Lake Elmo, MN/North St. Paul) and Nick Peterson (Sr.-Lake Elmo, MN/North St. Paul). The Schultz boys include Matt and Peter Schultz (So.-Oakdale, MN/North). Other underclassmen consist of sophomores Brandon Blaisdell (Prior Lake, MN), Clark Draxler (Eau Claire/Memorial), Patrick Finley (Waunakee), Brian Lockwood (DeForest), Chris Petersen (Green Bay/Ashwaubenon), Donnie Vollmer (Superior), Peter Schultz, and Bill Peterson. The veteran leadership will come from Brian Jordan (Jr.-Madison/West), Blake Christenson (Sr.-Oshkosh/North), Cale Schmidt-Jackson (Sr.-Duluth, MN/East), Brian Schwartz (Sr.-Bemidji ,MN) and Nick Peterson. The team as a whole looks to build off last year's .500 records in dual meets and Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) dual meets. The team wrapped up the year by placing third out of six teams at the conference championships with 526 points. The Blugolds have taken third for four years in a row now. The new season starts October 14th with the Midwest Coed Relays in the McPhee Pool. |
