Men's Golf Places Second At Ryerson Fall Classic

PELLA, IA - The UW-Eau Claire men's golf team continued its string of top five finishes today as it placed second out of 11 teams at the Ryerson Fall Classic hosted by Central College (IA).
The Blugolds, who started the day tied for third, shot a second round 305 at the Bos Landen Golf Club for a total score of 599. Indian Hills Community College (IA) took first place with a score of 590. Finishing in a tie for third place with a score of 602 was Central College (IA) and the second Indian Hills team. Rounding out the top five was Central (White) with a score of 619.
For the third straight tournament, Mike Greer (Sr.-Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake) was the top Blugold finisher as he finished tied for fifth place with a score of 147. Greer tied for the second-best round of the day posting a 73 (+1).
Mason Milner (Jr.-Onalaska, WI) finished tied for eighth with a score of 149. One shot behind Milner was Ben Ziemann (Fr.-Eau Claire, WI/Memorial), who finished tied for 10th with a 150.
In 17th place was Rob Norris (Sr.-St. Paul, MN/Cretin-Derham Hall), who posted a 153. Ryan Brockhaus (Sr.-Mayville, WI) finished in 23rd place with a score of 155.
In their three invites so far this fall, the Blugolds have finished no worse than fourth place. Dating back to last spring, the Blugolds have finished in the top four in the last five straight tournaments.
The Blugolds will finish up the fall season next weekend when they participate in the three-day Twin Cities Classic hosted by Gustavus Adolphus. Action begins next Saturday at Elk River Country Club.
