Please include a source of proof (newspaper, yearbook, etc.) to support your claim. ![]() Fri, Mar 21, 2025 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Golf In First Place At Stevens Point Invite Posted: Saturday, September 30, 2006 STEVENS POINT - The UW-Eau Claire women's golf team is in first place out of eight teams and Kate Borman (Fr. -Kenosha, WI/Bradford) and Jesse Thompson (Sr. -Stevens Point, WI/SPASH) hold the top two spots individually after the first round of the Stevens Point Invitational at the Stevens Point Country Club. The invite consists of seven Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) teams and St. Joseph's College (IN). The Blugolds shot a first round 322, seven shots ahead of second place UW-Stevens Point, who shot a 329. In third is UW-Oshkosh with a score of 342. UW-Whitewater is in fourth place with a first round score of 344 and St. Joseph's is in fifth with a score of 373. Kate Borman leads all individuals after she posted a 78 (+5) in the first round. Jesse Thompson is in second place after shooting an 80 (+7). Thompson had the best front nine score with a 37. Tied for third place is Meghan Sobotta (Jr.-Arcadia, WI) with a first round score of 81 (+8). Torie Ives (Fr.-Osseo, WI/Osseo-Fairchild) is tied for eighth place with a score of 83 (+10). Finally in 28th place is Sarah Hansen (Jr.-Bangor, WI), who shot a 96 (+23). The Stevens Point Invitational will conclude tomorrow with final round action at the Stevens Point Country Club. - JR - |
