Mon, May 20, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Tennis Doubles Up Saints To Win Eighth Dual Meet Posted: Saturday, September 30, 2006 EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team remains undefeated in dual play after defeating St. Scholastica (MN) 6-3 today at Simpson Courts. This moves Eau Claire to 8-0 in dual meets this season and 13-2-0 overall.
Riordan also won in No. 1 singles with 6-4s to climb to 9-3. Gina Dahl (Fr.-Fort Atkinson) now has an 8-2 record in No. 2 doubles after today's 6-4, 6-3 victory. No. 3 player Carlson squeezed by 7-5 in her first set and then won the match with a 6-2 second set. Her record stands perfect at 7-0. Meanwhile, McCormick notched the sixth Blugold win of the day blanking her challenger 6-0, 6-0. She is 4-1 in No. 6 play this season. There are only three dual meets left in the season. The last time Eau Claire went undefeated in fall dual meets was 2002. The team will play its Alumni Meet today and will next see UW-River Falls in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) competition. The matches begin Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in River Falls. No. 1 doubles duo Sarah Riordan (Jr.-Appleton/North) and Laura Geissler (Sr.-Coon Rapids, MN) won by a close 8-6 margin while the No. 2 pair of Kristie Carlson (Jr.-Arden Hills, MN/Mounds View) and Brenna McCormick (Fr.-Greendale) handed their opponents an 8-2 loss. Geissler and Riordan move to 7-2 and the No. 2 crew improves to 5-1.
