Thu, May 23, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Soccer Falls To No. 24 Loras College Posted: Saturday, September 4, 2004 DUBUQUE, Iowa - The UW-Eau Claire soccer team scored the first goal of the match but allowed four unanswered goals as the Blugolds fell 4-1 to No. 24 Loras College here today in Iowa. The Blugolds fall to 1-1-0 with the loss after opening the season with a win against Augsburg. Loras improves to 2-0 on the young season. Eau Claire got on the board first, when Jana Huebner (Fr.-Mendota Heights, MN/St. Croix Lutheran) broke a scoreless tie in the 36th minute to give the Blugolds a 1-0 lead. The advantage lasted for just under 20 minutes, before Jennifer Wilberding tied the game up for Loras. Just over a minute later Dani Gayduzek put the Blugolds in the hole for the first time in the game, scoring a goal to put Loras ahead for good. The Duhawks added two more goals while holding the Blugolds to just eight shots in the match as Loras topped Eau Claire 4-1. The Blugolds will look to get back in the win column this Wednesday when they travel to St. Paul, Minnesota, to battle St. Thomas. The match is set to begin at 4:00 p.m. |
