Sat, May 18, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Tennis Hands Blue Devils First WIAC Loss Posted: Tuesday, September 12, 2006 MENOMONIE - After defeating UW-Whitewater and then taking third in the Whitewater Invite this weekend, the UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team took its second conference dual meet of the season today by defeating UW-Stout 7-2. The Blugolds are 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) for dual meets while Stout is 3-2 and 0-1, respectively. The No. 1 doubles team of Laura Geissler (Sr.-Coon Rapids, MN) and Sarah Riordan (Jr.-Appleton/North) defeated their counterparts 8-4. Kristie Carlson (Jr.-Arden Hills, MN/Mounds View) and Brenna McCormick (Fr.-Greendale) won 8-1 in the No. 2 match while Kristin Neuman (Jr.-Green Bay/Ashwaubenon) and Liz Deprey (Jr.-Green Bay/Notre Dame) rolled over their opponents 8-0. The top four singles players all won their matches today. Riordan posted 6-3s while Gina Dahl (Fr.-Fort Atkinson) had a couple 6-4s. Carlson took her match 6-2, 6-1 and Geissler had scores of 6-3 and 6-4. The team heads back home this weekend to face a couple non-conference foes this Saturday.
