Gustavus Adolphus College ran away with the team title and UW-Eau Claire's Meghan Sobotta and Gustavus' Rachel Roberg shared medalist honors in the annual UW-Eau Claire Fall Invitational women's golf tournament which concluded on the Wild Ridge Course in Eau Claire Sunday.

Gustavus, which was the NCAA Division III national runner-up last spring, posted a 312 Sunday on the par 73, 6,118-yard Wild Ridge Course after totaling 311 on the par 72, 5,910-yard Mill Run Course Saturday for a two-day total of 623.

Host Eau Claire had the next closest team score at 652, just a single stroke ahead of the University of St. Thomas which had the second best total Sunday at 322 to finish at 653. Rounding out the field in the 20-team invite were UW-Oshkosh 660, Wartburg 662, UW-Stevens Point 664, Loras 682, Central 685, Buena Vista 686, UW-Whitewater 699, Luther 702, Carleton 710, St. Mary's 711, Macalester 726, St. Benedict 731, UW-Superior 763, UW-Stout 775, Augsburg 798, UW-River Falls 810 and UW-Platteville 839.

Gustavus was second, Wartburg fourth and Eau Claire fifth in last year's NCAA championships. St. Thomas won last year's UWEC Fall Invite by two strokes over Gustavus with Oshkosh fourth and Eau Claire fifth.

Sobotta (Jr.-Independence) was in a three-way tie with Wartburg's Kate Thompson and Gustavus' Kimbra Kosak after the first day of this year's tournament, all having carded 76s. Sobotta matched her score Sunday but Roberg turned in the best round of the day at 75 to go with her opening round 77 and shared first with Sobotta at 152. Kosak slipped to an 80 Sunday and finished third overall at 156 while teammate Kali Griggs added a 79 to her first 18-hole score of 78 to finish fourth at 157. The Gusties' Breanne Staples and Wartburg's Thompson tied for fifth with 158.

Eau Claire counted two freshmen scores among its total Sunday as Kate Borman (Kenosha/Bradford) shot an 80 and Torie Ives (Osseo/Osseo-Fairchild) fired an 84 to go along with an 84 by senior Jesse Thompson (Stevens Point/SPASH).
