Fri, May 24, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Golf still In Fifth After Third Round Of Nationals Posted: Thursday, May 11, 2006 HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, FL - The UW-Eau Claire women's golf team shot a 336 (+44) today to maintain fifth place at the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships held at Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort. The third round was interrupted for five hours due to a lightning delay. When the weather cleared and the third round concluded, Methodist College remained in first place with a score of 928 (+52). In second place is DePauw University with a score of 982 (+106). In third is Gustavus Adolphus with a score of 987 (+111). In fourth place is Wartburg College with a score of 999 (+123). The Blugolds are in fifth with a score of 1016 (+140). Jesse Thompson (Jr.-Plover, WI/SPASH) moved up once again after she put up a third round score of 77 (+4) and is the highest Blugold as she is in 12th place with an overall score of 243 (+24). Maggie Loney (Sr.-River Falls, WI) shot an 84 (+11) for the second consecutive day and is now in 17th place overall with a score of 246 (+27). Also shooting an 84 (+11) on the day was Meghan Sobotta (So.-Arcadia, WI). Sobotta is now in 39th place with a score of 262 (+43). Kim Huber (So.-Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake) shot a third round score of 91 (+18) and fell to a tie for 42nd place with a score of 265 (+46). Becky Washleski (Fr.-Cambridge, MN/Cambridge-Isanti) shot a 104 (+31) today and is in 58th place with a score of 297 (+78). The NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships will conclude tomorrow with final round action beginning at 8 a.m. eastern standard time. - JR - |
